Gusts in Detroit
We had a big CD "pre-release" show in Pontiac for our upcoming full length "Fantastic Gusts of Blood." Real Detroit did a big story about it here. Then the reviewed the album here. Oh, Detour did a little show review (with picutres! ooh aah) here. Everybody else has to wait until the official release on September 2nd, or at our shows this summer.
March 08 Tour Pics; To & From SXSW
So we took this young lady on tour with us so she could take photos & videos of us. Her name was Sandra Dee, or Sallie Mae or something. Anyways, here are all of the pics in the raw. We’ll add a few select shots to the myspace & website, but for now you get the mother load.

• Child Bite Does SXSW Part IIII
More of us playing @ the VOV fest; some close-ups of my sweet crocheted keyboard cozy
I know that the IIII should be a IV. Don’t tell Little Caesar! Kathy Lee also shot several hours of video footage for her documentary, so as soon as that’s is up & ready we’ll let you know. Thanks to everybody we ran into on tour! It was a great success & a ton of fun. See you next year (if not sooner)!
The Secret To Our Success
We had an interview recently with Real Detroit & exposed how we do it.
We're a 5 piece!
Christian Doble (saxophone, vocals, etc) is now officially bound to our collective for all time.
Mysteries, Snakes, and Complicated Hunger
After a ridiculous number of emails, debates, and internal voting campaigns (we only did 2 votes, but even one is considered ridiculous) we've come up with a title for the new record. It's called "Fantastic Gusts of Blood". Right now it's getting mastered by Roger Seibel; he's done work for bands like Modest Mouse & Tortoise. It's gonna be coming out on Suburban Sprawl in early spring, but for now here's the final track listing:
02) Never-ending Mountain Slammer |
03) Banana Gorgon |
04) White Bull from the Sea |
05) Back to the Deep Egg or: His Fleas Became All the People |
06) The Rainbow Churn |
07) In the Bat House |
08) Jewels Rules |
09) Barracouta Mouth |
Scrabble
Scrabble Look us up on Facebook & let's play fucking Scrabulous. We are all avid Scrabblers in the van, at least until Juice took back his deluxe board. Start up a game with us & different members of our band will play with you all the time.
What's New in the World of Floaty Drips
Hello! New site as you can see; feel free to look around and report fuck ups (thru the contact page). Thanks to our friend Dan for the use of his type design and a psychedelic nude. New functions include being able to search & comment on our news posts, receive rss updates, watch videos, etc. We'll be making more frequent news posts so check back often. Lots of other stuff has been happening at Camp Bite lately too. We traveled to Benton Harbor, MI & a couple other towns called "Detroit" & "San Francisco" to record & mix our upcoming 2nd album. We'll post our memories of that fiasco shortly. Dunno when it's coming out yet, stay tuned. Until then you can hear a couple of the new songs at our shows (more midwest dates for this fall coming up). Maybe we'll post a demo? In between recording & mixing we put out an EP called Gold Thriller, which we are totally proud of & lots of people seem to like. Also a free downloadable single for "I Like Friends" featuring the b-side "Face Parade," a song we stole from our friends The Pizazz (download it here). We toured the east coast & midwest, which was amazing. Who would've thought that North Carolina was so sweet? We will also be posting a tour journal soon, possibly including juicy details.
